Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Campobasso (7-11) rolled over at home 12th ranked Sassari (3-15) 73-51. Campobasso dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sassari's 22. They outrebounded Sassari 48-31 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Campobasso players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sassari's players. It was a great evening for American swingman Julie Wojta (185-89, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Croatian center Ivana Tikvic (194-94, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 19 points and 12 rebounds. Campobasso's coach Domenico Sabatelli felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Kennedy Burke (185-97, college: UCLA, agency: Wasserman) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Sierra Calhoun (183-96, college: Rutgers, agency: Wasserman) scored 9 points. Newly promoted Campobasso maintains ninth place with 7-11 record. Sassari lost their sixth game in a row. Sassari at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Campobasso will play against Broni (#10) on the road in the next round. Sassari will play against Lucca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
