Regular Season Round 19: Piacenza - Torino 78-82

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Piacenza (9-7) against fourth ranked Torino (9-4) on Sunday night. Host Piacenza was defeated by Torino in a tough game in Casalpusterlengo 78-82. Strangely Piacenza outrebounded Torino 30-18 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Alessandro Cappelletti (186-95) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 assists. American guard Jason Clark (190-90, college: Georgetown) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Torino's coach Demis Cavina allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Tommaso Guariglia (206-97, agency: SLN) came up with 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American forward Markis McDuffie (203-97, college: Wichita St.) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Piacenza in the defeat. Torino moved-up to second place in A2. Piacenza at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Torino will play against Bergamo (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Piacenza will play against Udine (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
