Liga Dia top team - Perfumerias Avenida (22-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Gran Canaria (8-16) in Salamanca 107-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gran Canaria. Perfumerias Avenida made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Gran Canaria turnovers. Perfumerias Avenida looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gran Canaria's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American-British swingman Karlie Samuelson (183-95, college: Stanford, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Leonor Rodriguez Manso (180-91, college: FSU) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Perfumerias Avenida players scored in double figures. Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and American center Kai James (196-95, college: FSU) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gran Canaria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of twenty two victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-0 record. Newly promoted Gran Canaria dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Perfumerias Avenida are looking forward to face ASEFA Estudiantes (#5) in Madrid in the next round. Gran Canaria will play at home against ASEFA Estudiantes (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
