LF2 top team - Ferrol (20-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Genero (2-15) 76-52. Ferrol forced 24 Genero turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Genero's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brooke Salas (180-97, college: NM State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. American-South African forward Sune Swart (190-95, college: Bucknell) contributed with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Mali Maimouna Haidara (181-4) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Carolina Mateo (187-0) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Genero. Genero's coach Aday Villalba gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ferrol have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A with 20-0 record. Genero lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Ferrol are looking forward to face Aviles (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Genero will play against Coruna and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
