Regular Season Round 17: Visby - Sodertalje 70-89

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Sodertalje (8-8) rolled over on the road 10th ranked Visby Ladies (3-13) 89-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sodertalje. Visby Ladies was better in third quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Visby Ladies 35-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Sodertalje looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-92, college: Portland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Dara Taylor (171-91, college: Penn St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. American guard Jayde Christopher (173-97, college: Boise St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists and the other American import Jessica Kelliher (183-97, college: Lewis) added 20 points in the effort for Visby Ladies. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Visby Ladies' coach let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sodertalje moved-up to sixth place. Visby Ladies lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Sodertalje will face Uppsala (#8) at home in the next round. Visby Ladies will play against Mark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
