Regular Season Round 10: Skallagrimur - KR 67-53

Bottom-ranked KR is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked Skallagrimur (4-4) 67-53 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Skallagrimur. KR managed to win fourth quarter 14-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Skallagrimur looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Serbian-Hungarian swingman Sanja Orozovic (186-90) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Canadian forward Nikita Telesford (185-97, college: Concordia) supported her with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 17 points and 9 assists by American point guard Taryn McCutcheon (165, college: Michigan St., agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for KR. Finnish forward Annika Holopainen (185-93, college: ODU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Skallagrimur maintains fifth position with 4-4 record. Loser KR still closes the standings with eight games lost. Skallagrimur will meet at home higher ranked Valur (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KR will play against Snaefell (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
