Regular Season Round 18: Olimpia - BDU Tsmoki 72-64

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Grodno. Third ranked Olimpia faced one of their biggest challengers BDU Tsmoki. Host Olimpia (13-5) defeated guests from Minsk (8-10) 72-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BDU Tsmoki. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Olimpia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-1) who scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (183-87) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Anastasiya Sushchyk (160-97) who recorded 9 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Natallia Dashkevich (188-88) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpia maintains third position with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Gorizont. BDU Tsmoki at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Olimpia are looking forward to face league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BDU Tsmoki's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Gorizont 2.
