EBA round 17 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Chantada (8-2) against seventh ranked Xiria (5-5) 76-62 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Chantada. Xiria forced 20 Chantada turnovers. Senegalese center Mamadou Diagne (208-98) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Argentinian point guard Bruno Pallotti (182-98) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. Xiria's coach Fernando Buendia used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Carlos Gil (185-93) answered with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin Djordje Marinovic (201-1) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chantada. Xiria moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tenerife Naut. Chantada at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Mondragon. They were replaced at the leadership position by Llucmajor. Chantada will play next round against Betanzos trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Xiria will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Costa Artraba in Ferrol.
