Second Stage Round 4: Samorin - Piestanske C. 72-65

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Piestanske C. (3-1) on the court of third ranked Samorin on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Samorin 72-65. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Piestanske C.. It was a great shooting night for Samorin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Timea Sujova (172-84) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 6 assists and Simona Marcova (182-94) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Samorin players scored in double figures. At the losing side Croatian power forward Lea Miletic (183-95) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Samantha Mackay (174-91, college: Dayton) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Samorin maintains third position with 2-2 record behind leader Piestanske C. Piestanske C. at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with MBK Ruzomb.. Samorin are looking forward to face Young Angels (#4) in Kosice in the next round. Piestanske C. will play on the road against the league's second-placed MBK Ruzomberok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
