Regular Season Round 20: Maccabi T-A - Bnei Hertzeliya 98-75

Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (13-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Bnei Hasharon (5-10) in Tel-Aviv 98-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bnei Hasharon. They outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 35-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. Maccabi T-A players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by Croatian center Ante Zizic (209-97, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) supported him with 14 points and 10 assists. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach Giannis Sfairopoulos felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for Bnei Hasharon. His fellow American import forward Elijah Thomas (206-96, college: Clemson) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Maccabi T-A have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-2 record. Newly promoted Bnei Hasharon keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Maccabi T-A will play against Hapoel Eilat (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bnei Hasharon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
