Regular Season Round 26: Clarinos - Zamarat 91-60
Date: February 20, 2021
Not a big story in a game in San Cristobal where 16th ranked Zamarat (3-22) was rolled over by tenth ranked Clarinos (11-13) 91-60. Clarinos forced 19 Zamarat turnovers. American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Greek forward Mariella Fasoula (196-97, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Clarinos players scored in double figures. Clarinos' coach Claudio Garcia felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Abbie Wolf (193-98, college: Northwestern) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Jamaican forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Zamarat. Clarinos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with IDK Eustotren. Zamarat lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Clarinos' next round opponent will be league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zamarat will play at home against the league's second-placed Valencia (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
