Very predictable result when sixth ranked Granada (10-7) smashed at home 12th ranked Castello (5-13) 70-46 on Saturday. Granada dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Castello's 24. Granada forced 23 Castello turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Marina Becerra (172-1) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and Trinidad and Tobago-Vincentian center Verdine Warner (194-92, college: Shaw) who added 9 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American Peyton Whitted (190-95, college: Penn St.) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Virginia Saez (173-95) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Granada maintains sixth position with 10-7 record, which they share with Real Canoe. Castello lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Granada will face league's second-placed Estepona in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Castello will play against Almeria (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
