Regular Season Round 21: Politechnika Gd. - Arka 2 62-81

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gdansk. Second ranked Arka 2 faced 4th placed Politechnika Gd.. Guests from Gdynia (15-2) smashed host Politechnika Gd. (9-8) 81-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Politechnika Gd.. Arka 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Politechnika Gd.'s 24. Arka 2 forced 22 Politechnika Gd. turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Antoni Michalski (195-3) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Piotr Lis (186-1) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Arka 2 players scored in double figures. Center Mateusz Kulis (208-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and guard Stefan Marchlewski (184-98, college: Morrisville St.) added 15 points in the effort for Politechnika Gd.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arka 2 have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group A with 15-2 record behind leader Rydzyna. Politechnika Gd. at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Arka 2 will play against league's leader Koszalin Zak at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Politechnika Gd. will play against Notec Inowr. in Inowroclaw and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
