Regular Season Round 17: Filipenses - Pas Pielagos 105-100

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Filipenses (6-7) beat 5th ranked Pas Pielagos (6-4) in Palencia 105-100 on Saturday. Forward David Melero (190-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Swedish power forward Sebastian Andersson (204-2) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian guard Juan Sutina (192-90) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Italian forward Ben Marello (198-95, college: FSC) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pas Pielagos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Filipenses moved-up to sixth place. Loser Pas Pielagos dropped to the second position with four games lost. Filipenses will face Valladolid (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pas Pielagos will play against Cantbasket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
