Regular Season Round 18: Visby - Mark 66-65

A very interesting game took place in Visby. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Mark (2-16) to tenth ranked Visby Ladies (4-13) 66-65 in the fight for the tenth place. The hosts were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 21-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. Visby Ladies players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for American Jessica Kelliher (183-97, college: Lewis) who saved her team from a defeat with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Jayde Christopher (173-97, college: Boise St.) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Visby Ladies' coach Anders Pettersson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Stina Almqvist (181-2) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Taylor Edwards (175, college: ODU) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Mark. Four Mark players scored in double figures. Visby Ladies maintains tenth position with 4-13 record. Mark lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Visby Ladies' next round opponent will be higher ranked Hogsbo (#4) in Goteborg and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mark will play on the road against Uppsala (#8) and hope to win that game.
