There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Easo (5-6) won against 4th placed Ardoi (5-3) in Zizur Mayor 73-68 on Sunday. They outrebounded Ardoi 44-30 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Inigo Sarasola (207-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Iker Arrieta (180-92) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Nicolas Uriz (184-96) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and center Andres Zabaleta (200-94) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Ardoi. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Easo moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Ardoi dropped to the second position with three games lost. Easo will face Tabirako (#9) in Durango in the next round. Ardoi will play on the road against Baskonia B (#10) and hope to win that game.
