Regular Season Round 19: Kipina - FoKoPo 85-87

The most exciting game of round 19 in the 1st Division took place in Aanekoski. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Kipina (12-8) to first ranked FoKoPo (16-6) 87-85 on Thursday evening. Kipina cut a 19-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. FoKoPo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Oliver Kanden (190-4) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Junior Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) produced 31 points and 9 assists and South Sudanese power forward Makol Mawien (206-96, college: Kansas St., agency: BIG) added 13 points and 20 rebounds respectively for lost side. FoKoPo maintains first place in 1st Division with 16-6 record. Newly promoted Kipina dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. FoKoPo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kipina will play again on the road against the league's leader FoKoPo (#1) in Forssa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
