Regular Season Round 17: Rustavi - Cactus 94-86

Superleague top team - Rustavi (11-1) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Cactus (6-7) 94-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cactus. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cactus won third quarter 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rustavi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Maliek White (190-98, college: Providence) who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Rustavi's coach Anatoli Boisa used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Levan Maskhulia (200-96) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Darius Williams (206-97, college: Southern) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Rustavi and five Cactus players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Rustavi. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Cactus at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Batumi and Tskhum-Abkhazeti. Rustavi will meet league's second-placed Kutaisi on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cactus will have a break next round.
