Regular Season Round 25: Boras - Nassjo 101-78
Date: February 27, 2021
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Nassjo (12-10) was crushed on the road by third ranked Boras Basket (14-8) 101-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Boras Basket. Nassjo managed to win fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. American point guard Avery Woodson (188-93, college: Butler) fired 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Canadian point guard Marek Klassen (186-92, college: PLNU) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Boras Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Abdou Medjedoub (198-93) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and American center Dartaye Ruffin (205-91, college: Drexel) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Boras Basket have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 14-8 record having just three points less than leader Sodertalje. Loser Nassjo dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Boras Basket will meet at home Umea (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Nassjo will play against the league's leader SBBK in Sodertalje and hope to secure a win.
