Third-ranked A3 Basket (14-4) made lots of trouble for first ranked Alvik Basket (18-1) in Stockholm. Alvik Basket managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected easier game. A3 Basket was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of Alvik Basket, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding A3 Basket to just 7 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Klara Lundquist (173-99) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Shanity James (184-93, college: UALR) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. German center Ama Degbeon (188-95, college: FSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for A3 Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alvik Basket maintains first place with 18-1 record. A3 Basket at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Alvik Basket will play against Sodertalje (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. A3 Basket will play against Helsingborg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
