Regular Season Round 21: Alpo - Albino 68-40
Date: February 27, 2021
No shocking result in a game in Verona where fifth ranked Alpo (11-7) smashed 12th ranked Albino (5-13) 68-40. Alpo held Albino to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Alpo forced 24 Albino turnovers and outrebounded them 50-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Power forward Annalisa Vitari (186-96, agency: SLN) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and guard Martina Mosetti (179-95, college: Boston Coll.) accounted for 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Alice Carrara (186-97) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (187-84) added 3 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Albino in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alpo maintains fifth place in A2 with 11-7 record. Albino at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Alpo's next round opponent will be Sarcedo (#9) on the road. Albino will play against Scrivia and hope to win that game.
