The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chantada as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-C. Chantada defeated 9th ranked Betanzos at home 61-52. Point guard Martin Rodriguez (182-96) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Cristian Iglesias (200-94) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Chantada's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Khadim Fall (205-0) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and Fernando Vidal (200-97) scored 10 points. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Betanzos at the other side dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Betanzos will play next round against strong Xiria trying to get back on the winning streak. Chantada will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Culleredo on the road.
