Very expected game when 13th ranked Rosalia (4-17) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Barakaldo (10-12) 61-53 on Saturday. Barakaldo forced 19 Rosalia turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Laura Chahrour (172-95) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Swedish forward Emma Karamovic (184-96, college: Southeastern) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Barakaldo's coach Alberto Cea used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Sara Corredoira (-0) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and Brazilian center Leticia Soares (185, college: San Diego) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Barakaldo maintains eighth place with 10-12 record. Rosalia lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Barakaldo will face Arxil Pontevedra (#9) at home in the next round. Rosalia will play against Genero (#14) in Las Palmas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
