Regular Season Round 13: Oleggio - Alba 80-97

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Oleggio (5-7) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Alba (6-7) 97-80 on Saturday. Alba made 34-of-43 free shots (79.1 percent) during the game. Oleggio was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Luca Antonietti (198-94) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and point guard Mattia Coltro (181-97) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Alba players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Swiss Olivier Giacomelli (198-95) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Andrea Pilotti (195-80) scored 19 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alba moved-up to third place, which they share with 8 other teams. Oleggio lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Alba will face league's second-placed Omegna at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oleggio will play against Faenza (#3) and hope to win that game.
