Regular Season Round 19: Zamorano - Alcobendas 74-64

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Zamorano (10-9) beat at home 14th ranked Alcobendas (5-14) 74-64 on Sunday. They outrebounded Alcobendas 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American center Namdi Okonkwo (213-94, college: Pacific) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Forward Mario Alvarez (201-91, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alejandro Fortes (204-90) answered with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Jorge Tejera (200-92) added 10 points in the effort for Alcobendas. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Zamorano went down to seventh position (Silver) due to points difference. Newly promoted Alcobendas keeps the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Zamorano will face Algeciras (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alcobendas will play against Ponferrada and hope to win that game.
