Regular Season Round 13: Ancona - Civitanova 94-87

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Civitanova (5-8) was defeated on the road by third ranked Ancona (8-5) 94-87 on Sunday. Ancona shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Point guard Simone Centanni (187-91) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 assists for the winners and forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side guard Simone Rocchi (185-0) responded with 21 points and forward Francesco Amoroso (201-78) scored 20 points (made all of his eight free throws). Four Ancona and five Civitanova players scored in double figures. Ancona moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Civitanova dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Ancona will face league's leader Fabriano on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Civitanova will play against Giulianova (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
