Regular Season Round 19: LrNMKY - FoKoPo 80-82

Eighth-ranked LrNMKY (10-9) made lots of trouble for first ranked FoKoPo (16-6) in Lappeenranta. The visitors from Forssa managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. LrNMKY was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 24-21 charge of FoKoPo, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Guard Edgard Mombilo (190-97) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American point guard Aubrey Conerly (183-83, college: Jacksonville) answered with 25 points and 5 rebounds and forward Gleb Sokolov (196-99) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for LrNMKY. LrNMKY's coach Teemu Turunen tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. FoKoPo maintains first place in 1st Division with 16-6 record. LrNMKY at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. FoKoPo will play against Kipina (#4) in Aanekoski in the next round. LrNMKY will play on the road against PuHu Juniorit (#3) in Vantaa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
