There was no surprise in Zamora where 16th ranked Zamarat (3-23) was crushed by second ranked Valencia (24-1) 78-52 on Sunday. Valencia outrebounded Zamarat 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: ECSU, agency: LBM Management) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). German center Marie Gulich (194-94, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Victoria Vivians (185-94, college: MSU) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Ana Faussurier (190-94, college: Arkansas) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Valencia. They maintain second place with 24-1 record behind leader Avenida. Zamarat lost their eighth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Valencia will face league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
