The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Panathinaikos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Panathinaikos smashed 10th ranked Aris in Athens 94-72. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard TJ Bray (195-92, college: Princeton) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. International guard Eleftherios Bochoridis (196-96) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international Ioannis Kouzeloglou (204-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Mario Little (198-87, college: Kansas) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Aris at the other side keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Aris will play next round against Larissa BC trying to get back on the winning streak. Panathinaikos will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Kolossos HH in Rodou.
