Regular Season Round 12: Keflavik - Hottur 93-73

Leader Keflavik delivered the ninth victory on Monday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Hottur (3-8) 93-73. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-73. Keflavik shot 23 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Hottur only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Hottur 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and British forward Deane Williams (203-96, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) who added 26 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Croatian swingman Dino Stipcic (196-89) with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-88) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Keflavik maintains first position with 9-2 record. Newly promoted Hottur dropped to the eleventh place with eight games lost. Keflavik will meet at home Thor AK (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hottur will play against Grindavik and hope to secure a win.
