Regular Season Round 16: Ramat Gan - Rishon Le-Zion 69-76

Bottom-ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses on Monday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan in Ramat Hen 76-69. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Chelsea Nelson (188-96, college: NC State) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. International forward Eden Zipel (183-2) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Khaalia Hillsman (197-96, college: Texas A&M) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!) and the other American import point guard Natisha Hiedeman (173-97, college: Marquette) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (3-11) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Raanana. Maccabi Ramat Gan lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Petah Tikva. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will meet at home league's second-placed Ashdod in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ramat Gan will play against Ramat Hasharon and hope to secure a win.
