Regular Season Round 20: A3 Basket - Lulea Basket 62-84

An interesting game for Lulea Basket (17-3) which played road game in Umea against one of their biggest challengers A3 Basket (15-5). Second ranked Lulea Basket had an easy win 84-62. The game was mostly controlled by Lulea Basket. A3 Basket managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lulea Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Maggie Lucas (178-91, college: Penn St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points. International swingman Matilda Ekh (182-2) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Lulea Basket players scored in double figures. Lulea Basket's coach Robin Sandberg felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. German center Ama Degbeon (188-95, college: FSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Greek point guard Angeliki Vintsilaiou (174-98) added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for A3 Basket. Lulea Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-3 record having just two points less than leader Alvik Basket. A3 Basket at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Lulea Basket are looking forward to face Mark (#11) in Kinna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. A3 Basket will play on the road against IK Eos (#8) in Lund and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
