The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Casablanca's (10-12) road loss to seventh ranked Segle XXI (12-11) in Barcelona 63-69 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for point guard Elena Buenavida (174-4) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Gisela Sanchez (191-3) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Segle XXI players scored in double figures. Segle XXI's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and Cristina Villamor (-1) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Casablanca. Segle XXI moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Adareva and Joventut. Loser Casablanca keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Segle XXI will face Sant Josep (#9) in the next round. Casablanca will play against Almeda and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Liga Dia just one year after relegation.
