Regular Season Round 22: Lima-Horta - Barca CBS 54-79

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Barcelona: Barca CBS (#1) and Lima-Horta (#2). Lima-Horta was smashed at home by 25 points 54-79 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Lima-Horta. Barca CBS forced 27 Lima-Horta turnovers. Strangely Lima-Horta outrebounded Barca CBS 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-93, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Guard Marta Canella (178-95) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Forward Maria Martianez (189-97, college: ORU) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and center Paula Tutusaus (186-90) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lima-Horta. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barca CBS (22-0) have an impressive 20-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 22 victories in a row. Lima-Horta at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Barca CBS are looking forward to face Sant Adria (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lima-Horta will play against Azulejos and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
