Second Stage Round 6: FSV Rijeka - Split 61-59

A very interesting game took place in Rijeka. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Split (2-4) to tenth ranked FSV Rijeka (3-3) 61-59 in the fight for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Split. Brazilian forward Maira Andrade (181-95, agency: Interperformances) notched 11 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Bosnian point guard Anja Perko (170-0) supported her with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four FSV Rijeka players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by swingman Ana Mise (175-0) did not help to save the game for Split. Forward Dora Cipcic (178-98, college: Georgian Court) added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Split's coach Boran Grgin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. FSV Rijeka moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sibenik and Zagreb. Split at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. FSV Rijeka's next round opponent will be Pozega (#7) at home. Split's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Split to the arena KAZL Split.
