Very predictable result when fourth ranked Maresme (15-8) rolled over 9th ranked Sant Josep (8-13) in Barcelona 74-42 on Saturday. Maresme forced 24 Sant Josep turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Quite impressive performance for power forward Cristina Hurtado (187-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Slovenian guard Sara Vujacic (180-96, college: Maryland, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Maresme players scored in double figures. Maresme's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Neus Amengual (-95) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Wilma Carlsten added 8 points in the effort for Sant Josep. Maresme maintains fourth position with 15-8 record. Newly promoted Sant Josep keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Maresme will face Mataro (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sant Josep will play against Segle XXI (#6) and hope to win that game.
