No shocking result in a game when second ranked Ardoi (19-4) beat at home 10th ranked Coruna (7-16) 69-54 on Saturday. Ardoi dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Coruna's 26. Ardoi forced 25 Coruna turnovers. It was a very good performance for Argentinian center Diana Cabrera (184-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Eva Cases (168-97) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Ardoi players scored in double figures. Ardoi's coach Jose Javier Unzue used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Portuguese point guard Joana Ferreira (174-90) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Mara Cortes (-94) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Coruna. Ardoi maintains second position with 19-4 record having four points less than leader Barca CBS. Newly promoted Coruna dropped to the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Ardoi will face RC Celta (#3) in Vigo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Coruna will play at home against the league's leader Ferrol (#1) and hope to win that game.
