Eighth-ranked Zentro Basket (8-10) made lots of trouble for second ranked Estela (13-5) in Madrid. The visitors from Santander managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. However their fans expected much easier game. Estela made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: CUI, agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. Alvaro Palazuelos (190-99) contributed with 20 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Estela's coach David Mangas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Nacho Rodriguez (200-94) replied with 25 points and power forward Guillermo Bastante (201-98, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Zentro Basket. Estela maintains second position in Silver with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader FC Barcelona 2. Newly promoted Zentro Basket keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Estela will play against Alcobendas (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zentro Basket will play against Moron (#13) in Morón de la Frontera and hopes to get back on the winning track.
