The game in Lappeenranta was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked ViVe (9-14) played at the court of 8th ranked Catz Lappeenranta (5-19). ViVe defeated Catz Lappeenranta 85-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ViVe. Catz Lappeenranta managed to win third quarter 29-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 45-24 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kayla Gordon (183-95, college: Jacksonville) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Doniyah Cliney (182-96, college: S.Carolina) accounted for 11 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Five ViVe players scored in double figures. ViVe's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Veera Pirttinen (180-97) came up with 27 points and 5 rebounds and forward Roosa Kosonen (183-0) added 14 points respectively for Catz Lappeenranta in the defeat. ViVe maintains sixth place with 9-14 record. Catz Lappeenranta lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. ViVe will meet at home Torpan Pojat (#9) in the next round. Catz Lappeenranta will play against the league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka and hope to secure a win.
