Everything went according to plan when second ranked Brescia (15-4) defeated on the road 13th ranked Cagliari CUS (2-11) 60-47 on Saturday. They outrebounded Cagliari CUS 40-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for French Angelina Turmel (198-96, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Benedetta Bonomi (181-97) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Brescia's coach Stefano Zanardi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Israeli point guard Giulia Prosperi (178-97) replied with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Federica Madeddu (183-1) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cagliari CUS. Newly promoted Brescia maintains second position in A2 with 15-4 record behind leader Faenza. Loser Cagliari CUS keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Brescia will face Cagliari V (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cagliari CUS will play against Bolzano AV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
