Regular Season Round 23: Legia 2 - AZS UMCS 92-83

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked AZS UMCS (18-2) in Warszawa on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Legia 2 (14-8) 92-83. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of AZS UMCS. Legia 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Guard Przemyslaw Kuzkow (185-99, agency: Alti Sport) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists. Point guard Wojciech Szpyrka (178-98) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Legia 2 players scored in double figures. Swingman Karol Obarek (194-93) answered with 26 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Michael Gospodarek (186-91) added 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for AZS UMCS. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Legia 2 moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with LKS Lodz. AZS UMCS at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Legia 2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AZS UMCS will play at home against LKS Lodz and is hoping to win this game.
