Regular Season Round 18: Valladolid - Burgos 100-108

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Burgos (5-11) beat on the road higher ranked Valladolid (9-6) 108-100 on Sunday. Burgos made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 58.1 percentage. It was a good game for point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-95) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) replied with 23 points and the former international forward Nacho Martin (202-83) added 19 points in the effort for Valladolid. Four Burgos and five Valladolid players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Caceres and Melilla. Loser Valladolid keeps the fourth position with six games lost.
