Regular Season Round 20: FoKoPo - Kipina 93-107

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked FoKoPo (16-7) in Forssa on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Kipina (13-8) 107-93. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 59-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kipina dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to FoKoPo's 32. American guard Junior Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 10 assists and 5 steals. Lauri Jantti (202-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) replied with 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Oliver Kanden (190-4) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for FoKoPo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Kipina maintains fourth position in 1st Division with 13-8 record. FoKoPo at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. Kipina are looking forward to face higher ranked PuHu Juniorit (#3) in Vantaa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. FoKoPo will play on the road against PeU-Basket in Pernio and is hoping to win this game.
