Second Stage Round 6: Mursa - Pula 85-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Pula's (2-4) road loss to fourth ranked Mursa (3-2) 78-85. Mursa forced 19 Pula turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Mursa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. The former international forward Davorka Balic (188-88) notched 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Petra Simunic (-93) supported her with 15 points and 6 assists. Mursa's coach Goran Gunjevic used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by American forward Kelli Schrauth (180-97, college: Cardinal Stritch) did not help to save the game for Pula. Sara Boric (176-0) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mursa moved-up to third place, which they share with KAZL Split. Pula at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Mursa's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Medvescak in Zagreb and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pula will play on the road against the league's leader Ragusa in Dubrovnik and hope to win that game.
