Not a big story in a game in Stargard where 13th ranked Anwil (9-18) was defeated by eighth ranked Spojnia (14-14) 77-67 on Tuesday. Spojnia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Anwil's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists. His fellow American import Nick Faust (198-93, college: LBSU) helped adding 19 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: MTSU) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Spojnia maintains eighth place with 14-14 record. Anwil lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Spojnia will face Asseco Arka (#14) in Gdynia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anwil will play on the road against HydroTruck Radom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
