We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Treviglio (11-10) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Piacenza (12-10) 93-85 on Thursday. Point guard Gherardo Sabatini (183-94) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 assists for the winners and American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Piacenza players scored in double figures. Piacenza's coach Stefano Salieri used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard JJ Frazier (178-95, college: Georgia) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Simone Pepe (184-93, agency: SLN) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Piacenza have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Treviglio dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Piacenza will face Biella (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Treviglio will play against Casale (#10) and hope to win that game.
