Regular Season Round 21: Estela - Alcobendas 90-61
Date: March 13, 2021
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Estela (15-5) crushed 14th ranked Alcobendas (5-15) in Santander 90-61 on Saturday. Estela dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Alcobendas' 20. They outrebounded Alcobendas 45-20 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: CUI, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Equatorial Guinean forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Estela players scored in double figures. Forward David Marina (202-88) answered with 13 points and forward Alejandro Fortes (204-90) added 12 points in the effort for Alcobendas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Estela maintains second place in Silver with 15-5 record having just one point less than leader FC Barcelona 2. Newly promoted Alcobendas keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Estela will face Moron (#12) in MorĂ³n de la Frontera in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alcobendas will play on the road against Algeciras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
