Regular Season Round 21: L'Hospitalet - Jairis 61-59

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 13th ranked Jairis (5-14) was edged on the road by fourteenth ranked L'Hospitalet (6-14) 61-59 on Saturday. It was a good game for American guard Brett Hanson (188-97, college: FSC) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Pol Bassas (184-95) contributed with 10 points and 4 assists for the winners. Cape Verdean-American point guard Shane DaRosa (185-88, college: Bristol CC) answered with 14 points and Jordanian-American forward Zane Najdawi (201-96, college: Citadel) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Jairis. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. L'Hospitalet moved-up to thirteenth place in Silver. Newly promoted Jairis dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. L'Hospitalet will face higher ranked Villarrobledo (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jairis will play against Cornella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
