Regular Season Round 24: MKS DG 2 - Polonia Bytom 77-88

Not a big story in a game in Dabrowa Gornicza where 7th ranked MKS DG 2 (11-11) was defeated by second ranked Polonia Bytom (20-2) 88-77 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 30. Polonia Bytom forced 21 MKS DG 2 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) who added 13 points during the contest. Polonia Bytom's coach Mariusz Bacik used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) with 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Karol Jagoda (195-1) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Polonia Bytom maintains second position in Group C with 20-2 record having just one victory less than leader Rydzyna. Loser MKS DG 2 keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Polonia Bytom will face AZS PWSTE (#6) in Jaroslaw in the next round. MKS DG 2 will play at home against Bielsko-Biala and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
