Regular Season Round 20: Agustinos - Leon 64-67

A very interesting game took place in Leon. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Agustinos (5-8) to sixth ranked Leon (6-4) 67-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Agustinos. Leon forced 19 Agustinos turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Alberto Garcia (196-99) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. DR Congolese forward Steve Kuminga (198-96, college: CCC) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Sergio Martinez (180-92) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Juan Del Rio (195-96) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Agustinos' coach Beatriz Pacheco tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Leon moved-up to fourth place in Group A-C. Newly promoted Agustinos keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Leon's next round opponent will be league's leader Chantada at home and it may be the game of the week. Agustinos will play against Estudiantes L. (#9) in Lugo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
